River Rock Residences

The development at 70-92 ½ Boston Street was a new construction at the former Flynntan site in the Blubber Hollow Neighborhood of Salem, MA.  The site fronts on both Boston and Goodhue Streets and has over 25 feet of grade change between the two streets.

The project consisted of a three-story plus garage, mixed-use building containing 44 residential apartments and 1,180 square feet of Commercial Space and a separate 6-unit condo townhouse structure fronting up on Boston Street.  The development was designed to harmonize with the historic character of the neighborhood while giving new life to a vacant industrial site.  The site is part of the Salem’s designated North River Canal Corridor, and the project went through a substantial review process, including receiving approvals from the Salem Planning Board, Zoning Board and Design Review Board.
